About Me
mental health supportHeather Harvey, Ph.D., LPC
I’m Heather Harvey, Ph.D., a Licensed Professional Counselor at Allium Counseling. I’m glad you’re here — seeking help takes courage, and my goal is to meet you with warmth, steady attention, and real partnership as we work toward the change you want.
I’ve spent over 13 years supporting people across the lifespan — children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and individuals — and my education (a Master’s in Family & Consumer Sciences/Child Development, a Master’s in Counseling, and a Doctorate in Counseling & Psychological Studies) informs the thoughtful, evidence-based care I provide. Those years of training and practice have taught me how to tailor support to each person’s unique story.
When we work together, you’ll find that I prioritize safety, calm, and understanding. I listen without judgment and help you build practical skills to manage stress, anger, and the everyday challenges that get in the way of living the life you want. My approach is compassionate and collaborative: I’ll walk alongside you, help you name what matters, and support you in taking manageable steps forward.
Discover the Difference: Why Heather Harvey, Ph.D., LPC?
I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and finding the right person matters. My goal is to make that process feel comfortable, supportive, and genuinely helpful for you.
I’ve spent years building my education so I can better understand and support the people I work with. I hold a Master’s in Family & Consumer Sciences/Child Development, a Master’s in Counseling, and a Doctorate in Counseling & Psychological Studies. For me, learning never really stops—it’s part of how I make sure I’m showing up for you in the best way possible.
Over the past thirteen plus years, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, including children, teens, young adults, couples, and individuals. Everyone comes in with their own story, and I take the time to get to know you and what you need, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I also have experience helping with things like stress and anger management, and I’ve worked in different settings—from schools to inpatient programs to private practice. That variety has given me a broader perspective on how to support people through different challenges.
What matters most to me, though, is how you feel in our sessions. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I care deeply about the people I work with, and I’m here to walk alongside you as you sort through whatever you’re facing.
If you decide to work with me, you can expect a supportive, down-to-earth approach focused on helping you move forward in a way that feels right for you.
